She said the untreated infection was eventually identified as meningitis, which had allegedly gone unnoticed for approximately eight months.

In May, Stewart shared encouraging news that Monroe had opened his eyes and appeared responsive for several hours.
During one particularly emotional moment, she said their daughter jokingly referred to him as “Sleeping Beauty.”

As Monroe’s designated power of attorney, she acknowledged that she must consider his long-term quality of life while continuing to hope for recovery.
Although she emphasized that no final decisions have been made, Stewart admitted the family is now facing conversations they never imagined having.
In a recent social media post, she shared a heartfelt prayer asking for guidance and wisdom during this challenging time.
“Dear God, I look to no one else for wisdom,” she wrote. “Please give me direction and wisdom so I can make the right decisions.”
Hope Remains Despite the Uncertainty
Medical experts reportedly believe that if Monroe regains consciousness and is eventually removed from life support, he could require intensive around-the-clock care for an extended period.
Even so, Stewart continues to hold onto faith.
She described her husband as a fighter and thanked supporters for standing with the family throughout the ordeal.
